Service 04 — ACCIDENT

Written off,still worth money.

An insurer's assessment is about whether the car is worth repairing, not about whether it is worth anything. A late-model car with a folded front still carries a good engine, a straight rear half and a boot full of usable parts. That is what we are paying for.

About Accident Car Removal in Adelaide

01

If you kept the salvage

When you take the payout and keep the wreck, the car becomes your problem and the storage clock keeps running. Ring us with the assessor's report and we will price it off that, then collect straight from wherever it is sitting.

02

The paperwork side

Written-off vehicles in South Australia are recorded on the national register, and the transfer has to reflect that. We complete the transfer with you at pickup and tell you exactly what to lodge with Service SA so the car stops being yours.

03

Collection from a third party

Panel shop, smash repairer, holding yard or a friend's driveway — we only need the address, a contact name and their consent to release the vehicle. You do not have to be there when the truck arrives.

Services overview

The other three,same phone number.

Four ways a car leaves a property, one number to ring. Whether it is a runner you have outgrown, a shell that has been sinking into the lawn since 2011, or an insurance write-off still sitting at the panel shop, the process is identical: describe it, get a price, keep the cash, keep the towing fee.

What people say oncethe truck has gone.

Nearly every review mentions the same two things: the price did not move when the driver arrived, and the car was gone the day it was promised.

Falcon had been sitting beside the shed since 2016 with two flat tyres. Rang about ten in the morning, had a price in about four minutes, truck was there by three. Winched it straight off the grass, handed me the cash, no mucking about with the price when he got here.

Insurance wrote the car off and I kept the salvage without really thinking it through. It sat at the panel shop racking up storage. These blokes priced it off the assessor's report over the phone and collected it straight from the shop. I did not have to be there at all.

Old work van, no key, no battery, boxed in behind a trailer. Told them all of that on the phone and they sent the longer cable. Driver reversed down a narrow driveway without touching the fence. Paid what was quoted, gave me the transfer form and told me exactly what to lodge with Service SA.

Clearing Dad's place before settlement and the car was the last thing left. They worked to my date instead of pushing for same day, which nobody else would do. Polite on the phone, polite at the house. One less thing on a long list.

Straightforward. Quote on the phone, truck the next morning, cash before it went on the tray. Only reason it is not five is the driver was about an hour later than the window, though he did ring ahead to say so.

Hail got it and the repair quote was more than the car was worth. Asked three places, this lot were the only ones who gave a real number over the phone instead of 'we will see when we get there'. Number did not change when they turned up.

FAQ

The questions we getten times a day.

Still stuck on something? The quote line is answered by the people who drive the trucks, not a call centre.

0469 906 500
Do I need registration papers to sell the car?
No. We buy unregistered vehicles every day. What we do need is proof you own it and photo ID at pickup — a rego renewal notice, an old registration certificate, or the transfer paperwork from when you bought it. If you have none of those, ring the quote line and we will tell you what will work.
What if the car will not start or has no keys?
That is most of what we collect. Flat battery, seized engine, no key, flat tyres, sunk into the lawn — the tilt tray winches it on regardless. Tell us on the phone if it cannot roll or steer so the driver brings the right gear.
Is there really no towing fee?
None. The tow, the driver's time, the fuel and the paperwork are our cost. The price quoted on the phone is the amount handed to you at the kerb, with nothing taken out for the truck.
How quickly can you pick it up?
Most Adelaide metro pickups happen same day if you ring before about 2pm, and next morning otherwise. We run 7am to 7pm, seven days a week, including weekends. If you need a specific day — a settlement, a hard rubbish deadline, an end of lease — say so and we will book it in.
Which suburbs do you cover?
The whole Adelaide metro area and the surrounds: Elizabeth, Salisbury, Gawler and Golden Grove in the north, Modbury, Prospect and Norwood through the middle, Port Adelaide and Glenelg on the coast, Marion and Noarlunga in the south, and out to Mount Barker in the hills. Further afield, ring and ask.
How and when do I get paid?
Cash, in hand, at the kerb, before the car goes on the truck. The driver checks the vehicle matches what you described, you sign the transfer, you count the money. No bank transfer that arrives some time next week.
What do I do with the number plates?
Take them off before the truck arrives and return them to Service SA, then lodge the notice of disposal so the vehicle stops being your responsibility. Do not leave the plates on the car. Our driver will remind you and can point you at the right form.
Do you take vans, utes, 4WDs and small trucks?
Yes — sedans, wagons, hatches, utes, vans, 4WDs, people movers and light commercials. Anything heavier than a light truck, ring first so we can send the right equipment.
Will the price change when the driver arrives?
Not if the car is what you described. The quote is based on the make, model, year, condition and whether major parts like the engine, gearbox or catalytic converter are still in it. If something significant was left out of the description, the driver will talk it through with you before anything is loaded.
Where does the car actually end up?
At a licensed, EPA-compliant depot. Fuel, oil, coolant and brake fluid are drained, the battery and tyres come off, usable parts are shelved and the shell is baled for steel — up to 98% of the vehicle is recycled. Ask any car removal company you call for their licence details, ours included.
